Hank had duty - he didn't call me - Billy & I got up at 8:00 - I washed 4 loads of clothes - brought in a big bunch of radishes - Estes Express called & said they were bringing the chairs. Didn't feel good today - Ruby came for coffee about noon - Stayed until after 1:00. Billy & I were eating when they brought the chairs - I worked quite awhile getting the box open - Billy didn't take a nap but laid on the bed while I done dishes & got the clothes in & folded - made both beds - then cleaned the bedrooms & bath & hall - had hot dogs & potato salad for supper. Mowed the front lawn after supper - gave Billy a bath - About 10:20 Warner & Hank came home - Warner ate - they left at 11:00 - I balanced bank statement & wrote out checks. Put clothes in the attic this A.M.

Memorial Day - Partially cloudy - cool.
Didn't do much today - Went to Ruby's for coffee this A.M. - They were painting the living room. We decided to have a cook-out if it didn't rain. Billy, Jimmy & I took the truck to Bayside & mailed Mom's letter. After lunch I made potato salad - Billy took a long nap - Hank went to the store. Fixed baked beans - potato salad - also radishes - carrotts & green peppers - cube steaks & hot dogs - We ate about 7:00. Ruby had macaroni & wilted lettuce - steaks. I went & looked at their paint job - then Ruby came back here with me - Jimmy & Billy were here with Hank & Jim - They stayed until 9:30 - We went to bed at 10:45.

Done the ironing first - had quite a bit - put a new ribbon on the typewriter - Hank came home for lunch - then he took the car to Alphin to have some work done on it. I tried to put Billy asleep but couldn't - Started typing a letter to Mom & Dad but Billy wanted to type so I let him type while I started making his p.j. top (yellow) - Ruby came over right after Hank came home - she stayed until supper - Tonight I watched tv until Hank & Billy went to bed - then I finished Mom & Dad's letter.

Cleaned the bedrooms & bath - hall this A.M. - then went to Gladys's for a minute - went to Colonial & got stuff for a toss salad - After lunch I finished the cleaning - made a toss salad - when Hank came home I took a shower - Fixed a pot pie for Billy - Pam came & stayed with him - we left about 6:00 - Went to Club 56 for a potluck supper - didn't know anyone except Ros Sprigel & Munson's. Home at 10:40.

We didn't stay too long - little David beat on Billy the whole time we were there - then we rode out through Broad Bay Colony - went through one of the homes - home about 7:00 - Ate a bite - watched tv - Read the Grundy paper.

Up at 7:15 - After bkfast I washed dishes - made bed - picked up things - hung a load of clothes out - Hank started painting while I did that - then I helped paint - worked at it all day - got finished with the first coat about 5:00 - I came in & cleaned strawberries - done lunch dishes - picked the strawberries - we went to Tastee Freez & ate supper - Stopped at BeLo - I took a shower & washed & et my hair tonight - pressed a white dress - watched Gunsmoke - went to bed at 11:00.

Fixed pancakes at 10:00 - after lunch I took Billy out & left him with Hank - then I went to Ship's Serv. & got a billfold for David - went to the Commissary - home at 3:00 - put groceries up & done dishes - went to Ruby's for a few minutes - had fishcakes for supper - Hank went to the base to see Hayes - Billy went to Jimmy's - I wrote in diary. It was raining so I went after Billy with the car - Sat in the garage & talked to Ruby awhile.

Up at 7:30 - Washed 3 loads of clothes - had them out & back in before lunch. Planned on painting but it clouded up & looked like rain - went to Ruby's & had a cup of coffee - Hank came home for lunch - started to get the mower ready & it started sprinkling - picked strawberries & put 3 pint in the freezer - remade the beds & folded the clothes - Billy took a long nap - sewed a button on Hank's khaki shirt - dampened clothes - Hank went to the base after supper - I gave Billy a bath. Wrote to Mom & Dad tonight - Called Dowlings. In Mom's letter she said Dad wasn't suppose to do a thing for 6 wks.

Up at 7:30 - Billy & I didn't go to Sunday School - I straightened up the house - picked strawberries - took Ruby a mess - we were eating lunch when Pat & Roger came. Hank left about 12:15 & went to work. We went out to the base about 1:30 & watched the demonstration - then came home. Hank got home about 4:30 - sat around awhile - we told them we were going out to eat so they left about 6:00 - We went to McDonald's & ate - stopped at 7-Eleven for milk - got cones at High's - Hank & Billy went to bed at 9:00 - I stayed up until 11:00 - read the paper.

Cleaned a bowl of strawberries while waiting on Billy's cartoons - straightened up the house - left about 9:30 & took the car to Alphin Motors - They adjusted the hood latch - got home about 11:00 - done the trimming with the push mower - after lunch I mowed lawn - got about ¾ of it done - first time I used the rider - then trimmed with the clippers - trimmed some shrubs also - it was pretty cold out - & windy & dirty - Jim & Jimmy came tonight - also Mr. Paul & another guy - I wrote to Mom & Dad - took a shower - Gladys called. Picked a bowl of strawberries & gave them to Ruby.

Up at 6:45 - Washed & set my hair this A.M. - Washed 3 loads of clothes - Cleaned bedrooms & bath this A.M. - Hank got off early - I was lying down putting Billy asleep when he came home - Took my first lesson on the lawn mower - Hank mowed lawn - I cleaned kitchen & living room - cleaned the bird cage - Got clothes in - fixed a meat loaf casserole for supper - Watched tv tonight - made up Billy's bed & back bed - was expecting Ray tonight but he didn't show up - bed at 11:00.

Up at 7:20 - After bkfast dishes I put ironing away - wrapped Mom's Mothers Day present - straightened up house - filled out another Medicare form - started my shortie p.j.'s - Jimmy came over & played awhile - then Billy went back with him until lunch. After lunch we went to Colonial & the dime store - tried to put Billy asleep but couldn't - fixed beef stew for supper - made a chocolate pie - sewed some more on my p.j.'s - straightened up the house again - gave Billy a bath after supper - sewed awhile - wrote in diary - Finished p.j. top - took a shower - watched tv awhile - Bed at 10:15.

He took Billy & went to Robt. Hall - also to Price's & got a new rider $399.00. I cleaned the whole house - made chili soup for supper - took a shower right after supper - wrote to Midge - watched tv. Went to bed at 11:00.

Up at 6:15. Got breakfast & done dishes - left at 7:30 to go to hospital. Hank didn't feel good - he stayed home. Got to hospital at 8:00 - Billy was sitting up - I fed him his breakfast but he didn't eat much - after Dr. Fink checked him he said he could go home - I went to the car & got his clothes - picked up papers at the desk - we got home at 10:00 - he was real irratable all day but ate all afternoon & after supper he acted like a different child - Ruby - Jim & Jimmy came for a few minutes. I had a lot of pain in my stomach tonight - slept on the davenport.

Up at 6:15 - Got breakfast - left about 7:45 for the hospital - Called Catherine first - Got to the hospital about 8:10. Billy was laying still & looking around. I fed him breakfast - first he got broth & juice - then after Dr. Fink saw him he said he could have solids - then he ate 3 bowls of Rice Krispies - Hank came in the morning after he checked in at the base - They took X-rays again this A.M. - Hank went back to work about 12:30 - came back about 4:30 - We stayed until 8:00 - Billy didn't urinate until late this afternoon - he didn't feel very good today. We ate a bite after we got home - Called Ruby.

Up at 7:00 - Washed several loads of clothes - cleaned the bedrooms & bath this A.M. - After lunch I started to mow lawn - Billy was out with me - all of a sudden he came in the house - he had diarrehia this morning so I came in - he was sitting on the potty - sat there a long time - I noticed his stomach was swollen again so I called Dr. Bisese - left at 3:30 & took him to the Dr. He sent me right to DePaul for X-rays - also admitted him - I called Hank & he came over - they took blood tests & gave him enemas - I nearly passed out - was really upset - Billy was scared to death - we got home at 9:30 - ate a hot dog there - took a shower - didn't sleep very good.

Up at 7:25 - Billy was running a temperature & white as a sheet - I sat with him all morning - about 10:00 he wanted to eat so I fixed a boiled egg & toast - he ate it & kept it down. Earlier I gave him 2 aspirin - he threw it up while I was talking to Pat. Hank came home about 10:00 to check on him - I told him the refrig. was freezing everything. He came home for lunch - I done last night & today's dishes - started washing all the mess - done 3 loads - Hank got a new control switch for the refrig. & had Maynard install it - I laid down & put Billy asleep - hung out clothes & washed 2 more loads - wrote a letter to Mom & dad - Pat called - Billy went outside for awhile - came in & threw up all over.

Baked a cherry & apple pie - after lunch we went to Colonial - put the roast on. made the cheese salad - Billy didn't take a nap - Warner's came over about 7:00 to eat - had roast - potatoes & gravy - scalloped corn - green beans - cheese salad - hot rolls - coffee - apple & cherry pie. Hank & I done dishes - they went back to the house to work - Brenda stayed here. They came back about 11:00 - had coffee. Gary slept on the floor - Brenda with Ray & Midge. Went to bed about 12:00.

Up at 7:00 - Washed 5 loads of clothes - washed sheets & mattress pad - Went to Kitty's - returned her plate & took $11.16 to her for Tupperware. Billy didn't have anyone to play with but played outside most of the day. Finished painting the living room tables - sprayed the brass plates with gold paint - Billy brought my Tupperware from Kitty's - Midge called - after lunch I done dishes - hung out last load of clothes - tried to get Billy asleep but gave up at 3:00 - mopped & waxed the kitchen floor - got clothes in & folded - made up Billy's bed so we can sleep in there - tonight we went to Burger Chef to eat - I told a negroe off in there - got the mail just before we left. Went to Midge's - home at 8:45 - Patty Blankenship came to Midge's.

Up at 7:15. Pouring down rain. Wrote a letter to Mom & Dad - couldn't let Billy out - I started painting the end tables - after lunch I made chocolate tapioca pudding - laid down to put Billy asleep - I fell asleep - woke up when the phone rang - they had hung up - called Catherine - she had called - said they were coming out - I changed clothes - straightened up the house - baked a coffee cake - they came about 4:00 - stayed until 6:30 - Carol came along. Didn't eat supper until 8:00 - Billy went to bed at 8:30 - I read the paper - finished mom & dad's letter - watched tv - bed at 11:15.

Up at 7:00 - This morning I defrosted the freezer in kitchen - cleaned the bedrooms - bath & living room - After lunch I cleaned the freezer & refrig. out with baking soda water - dumped up a lot of stuff - cleaned the kitchen - got ready to do dishes & sink was stopped up - finally scooped the water in a pan & took it out - put Drano in - after ½ hr. it still wouldn't work so I put more Drano in - it still wouldn't work so I went to Midge's & borrowed a plunger - was using it when the pipe broke underneath the sink - water everywhere - Called J.C. Hogge - they came about 5:30 - Worked until about 7:00 - didn't get it fixed - said they would be back tomorrow A.M. - Kitty brought our supper up. I was tired tonight - Billy went to bed about 8:00 - I watched tv awhile - fell asleep in chair - woke up at 10:30 & went to bed.

Up at 8:00. Midge brought Brenda at 8:30 - Billy was still in bed. I got breakfast for us & Brenda ate a little. I ironed summer clothes all morning - Midge came about 11:30 to get Brenda - stayed until after 12:00 - This P.M. I done some more ironing - dampened a few of the pieces - finished my red blouse - didn't feel like doing much. Ronnie came & finished the mowing. We ate supper about 5:30 & Billy went back out - I went to Ruby's to get him about dark. Watched tv awhile - went to bed at 9:30. Washed white bedspread.

Ate breakfast & done dishes first - then wrote a letter to Hank - Jimmy came over - I was ironing when Catherine called - I said we would pick her up & go to Carroll's & eat - we were just ready to leave when Polly Lowe came - She stayed until after 12:00 - then Midge called before we got out the door. We picked Catherine up & ate at Carroll's - went back to her place & stayed until 3:30 - Billy played outside with the kids - Fred came home. Finished the ironing when I came home. Billy played with Jimmy - Sewed a little more on Billy's shirt. Ruby & Jimmy came over for awhile after supper. Watched tv tonight & done the hand work on Billy's shirt. Went to bed at 11:00.

Up at 6:30. Mom & Dad finished packing & I got their lunch ready for them. It was raining. Midge called at 8:15 - wanted me to keep Brenda for her. She came before Mom & Dad left. They left at 9:20 - I done dishes & straightened up the house. Jimmy came over at 10:30. Midge came at 12:00 to get Brenda. She stayed for coffee. Jimmy went home at 12:45. After lunch I got Billy asleep - then I cut out the brown shirt for Billy & started sewing on it. Called Gladys. Really felt lonesome today - watched tv awhile tonight - went to bed at 9:30 when Billy did.

Up at 6:45. I washed 2 loads of clothes this A.M. - Mom done some handwashing. They loaded part of their stuff - I baked chocolate chip cookies before lunch - Billy played outside with Jimmy nearly all day - Midge came after lunch - She left about 3:00 - then Dowling's came - they left about 5:00 - we had coffee. I baked a ham & an apple pie. Dad & I went to Bayside & got gold spray paint & ribbon for the picture Mom made for me - She finished it tonight - it is so pretty.
Gladys & Cindy came after supper. Watched tv tonight - wrote in diary - called Tina.

Gave Billy a bath this A.M. - After lunch we went to Merilyn's - then we stopped at Newsome's when we came home (5:45) Dad was real sick with a headache - he went to bed for awhile - we ate supper about 7:00 - had egg sandwiches. Watched tv tonight - I called Mrs. Dearmon.

Up at 6:30. The sewing machine man came out about 9:00 - there was a thread caught in the race. After coffee we went to Ship's Service. I got a bra - comb - thread. Went to Short Stop but they didn't have any 2-14 - went to Bayside - Mom went to Colonial & I went to the Dime Store & got brown rick-rack - went back to the base & down where ships come in. Came home & ate lunch - went to Midge's this P.M. - then went to Colonial & I turned in my silver dollars - got a pail of sand for Billy. Was going to Dowling's but Pat, Roger, Roy & Tina came & spent the evening.

Got home at 4:30 - then we took Catherine home - stopped at Be Lo's & got bread. After Billy went to sleep Mom & I went to Overton's - she got bias tape & I got flower seed & radish & squash seed - ice cream. Watched tv & read the paper - wrote in diary.

High 62° - rain all day & night
Up at 6:45. It wasn't a very nice day - Midge & Brenda came this morning - stayed until noon. I finished Hank's letter before she came - Billy had a terrible cough today. After lunch Dad & I went to Bayside - I got cough syrup for Billy - & 2 pie tins. Left dad off at the garage - (also got Air Mail stamps) - when I got home I rolled out 2 apple pies & a peach - baked 1 of the apple pies - then I sewed buttons on Billy's shirt - Dad didn't get home until 4:30 - Billy fell asleep on the davenport about 5:00 - had roast for supper. Tonight I done the hand sewing on Billy's shirt - wrote in diary - watched tv - balanced bank statement.

Ate lunch at Tastee Freez - started to rain there - took Dad to the garage but his car wasn't ready. Home about 2:00 - I baked a mincemeat pie for supper - Dad & I went to see about his car - it still wasn't done - took the cigarettes over to Mildred Munson - went to dimestore & got buttons for orange blouse - went to Colonial & got flour & cookies. Tonight I watched tv - put red & black stitching on my white blouse - sewed buttons on my orange blouse - made buttonholes in Billy's shirt. The machine sewed alright but made a terrible knocking noise. Started a letter to Hank.

Billy was feeling better but I didn't take him to Sunday School - I took a shower this A.M. - so did Mom - After lunch we went for a ride - we went out to the place where the girl was buried - was real surprised to run into Mrs. Burnett there - talked to her for quite awhile. When we left there we went to Tastee Freez at Oceana - then out to the air station - got home about 5:00 - Billy ran off to Ranhorne's - he fell asleep in the green chair just as I was putting supper on the table. He woke up about 7:30 & fussed awhile - I put him in the bedroom with the vaporizer then. Watched tv - read the paper & wrote in diary. Billy was worse again tonight. Wrote to Hank tonight. Didn't finish the letter.

Cleaned the living room. After lunch & dishes I laid down & put Billy asleep - Mom baked Frosted Creams - I made beef stew for supper. Fred & Catherine came about 3:00 - they stayed for supper. Watched tv tonight - done the hand sewing on my white blouse & Billy's shirt. He woke up about 12:30 - he was all choked up - could hardly get his breath. It really scared us. We heated juice for him - finally he got settled down. I ran the vaporizer all night - he was pretty restless. He spilled a glass of juice all over the bed. Didn't get to bed until nearly 2:00.

Up at 7:15. The stool went haywire this morning - water shot all over when I took the lid off - after we got the water shut off I called J.C. Hogge - 2 men came out & fixed it - it cost $7.65. We had coffee - then went to Va. Beach - I inquired about the car - found out we got a 90 hsp. & paid for what we got. The salesman who sold us the car is no longer there - he was fired. Then we went to Rose's at Va. Beach - bought index cards for cookbook & candy bars - then we went to Carroll's & ate lunch at the picnic table - went to Rose's at Pr. Anne Plaza - got Billy a light weight jacket - pr. of pants & 2 tee-shirts - also got a cookbook - re-inforcements - extra paper - carbon paper - 2 dishclothes - went to GEX. I got a new sink mat - flour sifter & mouth wash - home at 3:00 - had coffee - Mom made a coconut cream pie - fixed chili for supper - baked a coffee cake - Midge called. Billy went to Jimmy's. Kitty, Elmo & Ricky came up tonight - stayed until 10:00. Watched tv & wrote in diary.

Ate dinner at Burger Chef - went to King's for awhile - after we got home I cut out 2 white over-blouses from the material I got today. We went to Jim & Ruby's tonight - it rained. Stayed until 10:30. I wrote to Hank after we got home.

Up at 7:00 - Washed 2 loads of clothes & hung them in the garage - cleaned kitchen, living room & hall this A.M. - Catherine called this A.M. - Fred called this P.M. - Gladys called. Billy took a nap - fixed roast for supper - cut out facing for sleeves of orange blouse. Really a bad day - blowing snow all day & tonight. Lights went out around 9:00 - we burned candles awhile then went to bed about 10:00 - the lights came on again at 10:30 - I got up & turned them all off - then went back to bed.

Up at 7:00. Had pancakes & sausage for breakfast. Washed 2 loads of clothes & hung them out - nearly froze. The drain started to overflow. Mom cleaned the bedrooms. After lunch I laid down & put Billy asleep - got up at 3:00 - Mom slept until 5:15. I made a coffee cake - Dad & I had coffee. He went for a ride - Billy got up about 4:30 - I put the steak on for supper - cleaned the kitchen, living room & hall. Mom done the bath - Dad got clothes in - Mom & I folded them. Watched tv tonight - Billy stayed up until 10:00. Ruby called. Took a pin worm test on Billy tonight.

Midge came after lunch - Stayed until almost 3:00. After she left I cut out an orange blouse - Started sewing it after supper - watched tv.

Up at 7:00 - While Mom done breakfast dishes I put a load of wash in - had 3 sheets & our mattress cover - then I started cleaning - had done 2 bedrooms & hall & was doing the bath when Mom said Dad was calling me from the garage - I went out & water was running all over - Billy had looped the drain hose outside & all the water backed up. We all cleaned it up - then I finished the cleaning - hung the clothes out - after lunch I laid down & put Billy asleep - got up at 2:45 - Mom was asleep & Dad was gone. I made buttonholes in Mom's dress - made coffee when Dad came back - washed & set my hair before supper - Kitty came up. Watched tv tonight - wrote to Therza. Went to bed at 12:45.

Midge called - we ate supper - talked & watched tv - it was so wonderful to see them. They were pretty tired. Mom & I went to bed at 12:10.

We left at 12:15 - went to Midge's - followed her to Emshar 9 ord & she left their truck there - then we went to the bank - I deposited 2 checks & drew out $50.00 - got gas - went to Gibson's & ate lunch - drove through the cemetery - took Midge home at 2:00 - Billy took a nap - I done a little handwashing - run 2 more loads through - hung them in the garage - got the garbage together & put it out - shook rugs - got clothes in. Washed the top of the cupboards - fixed Just Good Eatin for supper - done dishes - wrote in diary.

Billy had to stay in all day & didn't have anyone to play with so he was pretty restless. He took a nap this P.M. - I re-arranged the living room & finished cleaning it. Had pot pies for supper. Watched tv tonight - started a letter to Hank but Billy wouldn't go to bed until I did so we went at 10:30. I called Gladys tonight.

Up at 7:20. Kept Jimmy this morning - he came about 8:00. I straightened up the house - Fixed coffee when Ruby came after Jimmy - They left about noon. Billy didn't take a nap. I finished washing the living room walls - done the caulking at the front window. We went to Gibson's & ate supper - then went to the drugstore & picked up the pictures - Stopped at Ruby's & stayed awhile - left her pictures with her. Home about 9:00 - Wrote to Sallie Mae & Greer tonight.

Up at 7:40. Sunny & cold - Straightened up the house & got cleaned up - done last night's dishes. Just through with breakfast when Midge & Brenda came - stayed until 11:30 - went over to Ranhorne's after they left & I visited with them awhile. Was going to go to Catherine's & get her to go with us to eat hamburgers but noticed the pump was running constantly - did all I could think of but didn't help so went to see Fay - they were sick with the flu so he couldn't come - tried to get Danner & couldn't so came home & called Walker - he came about 4:00 - Ruby came over - cost $5.00 to fix the pump - needed adjusting - Went to Kitty's & got Billy - then went to Allie's & got hot dogs - took Walker the $5.00 - Stopped at Midge's awhile - home at 7:45 - took hem out of brown pleated skirt - watched tv - wrote Mom & Dad - went to bed at 11:15 - Billy went at 9:00.

Up at 9:00. Billy didn't feel good - neither did I. Washed 3 loads of clothes & hung them outside - nearly froze. Billy went to Ruby's - I went after him about noon - had coffee with Ruby. Went to Bayside after lunch - took negatives to drugstore - went to Colonial. Didn't do much this P.M. - played with Billy for awhile - got him to sleep about 4:00 - done some ironing while he slept but didn't get it finished. He got up at 5:00 - fixed rice for supper. Watched tv tonight - Midge & Pat called. Billy went to bed at 10:00 - I took a shower & wrote to Hank.
Watched the late movie "The Long Dark Hall."

Up at 7:20. Felt just terrible - had a terrible headache & felt like I was doped - Billy was half sick too - believe it was due to the varnish fumes - didn't go to Sunday School. Jimmy came over about 11:00 - we took him home - went in there for awhile - then went to Midge's - got home about 2:00 - had lunch & done dishes - had just laid down with Billy when Dowling's came - they stayed until 6:30 - Ruby came while they were here. After Dennis the Menace Billy ate some spaghetti - watched tv awhile - he went to bed about 9:00 - I read the paper & went to bed about 10:00.

Up at 8:15. Washed & set my hair before breakfast - Cleaned the living room & hall this A.M. - Re-arranged the living room - After lunch I put Billy asleep - then cleaned the kitchen - done our room before he went to sleep - done some more painting - finished up the back side of the living room - Called Pat - Ruby called. Had tv dinners tonight. Gave Billy a bath & washed his hair - watched tv - went to bed at 10:30 - had a terrible headache.

Washed 3 loads of clothes & hung them out. Billy went to Jimmy's for awhile. I went & got him - they came back here & played until lunch. I washed the living room walls down from the back around to the fireplace - before lunch we went to Bayside - went to Colonial & got a few things - came home & ate lunch. Billy wouldn't take a nap - I started varnishing walls - Billy went to Jimmy's late afternoon - I painted until 5:00 & then went after him - painted awhile after supper - watched tv - wrote to Hank.

Up at 7:00 - Made coffee - Started working on curtain for kitchen door - Billy got up at 8:00. Made the door curtain - Pat called - Also Catherine - fixed pancakes for breakfast - picked up things - Sent Kitty a birthday card - Went to Ruby's for a little bit - She was sick in bed - didn't stay long. Midge called this P.M. - after lunch I put Billy asleep - then done dishes - put the double rod up in the kitchen - also the door rod - done the ironing - mended Billy's dungarees. Jimmy came over when Billy woke up - stayed until 5:15 - had grilled cheese & spaghetti - done dishes. Gladys & Cindy came tonight - left about 9:00. Watched tv - wrote in diary - Called home.

Straightened up the house - Sewed a little on curtains for kitchen door - Called Catherine & Gladys - Fixed pancakes for breakfast - wrote a letter to Gladys Baker - Left at 12:00 & picked up Catherine - Went to Tastee Freez & ate lunch - then to GEX - got a double curtain rod for the kitchen - also a rod for the door - vitamins for Billy etc. - got back to Catherine's at 4:00 - Stopped at Gladys's on the way home - left her medicine off - home at 5:10 - had soup for supper - Watched tv tonight & wrote to Mom & Dad - Billy went to bed at 9:15 - I went at 12:15.

Up at 3:45 - Made coffee - got Billy up at 4:45 - left at 5:00 & took Hank to the base - got back home at 5:40 - Made our bed & stripped Billy's - washed a load of diapers, etc. - picked things up - made another pot of coffee - cleaned the house before breakfast except dusting living room & finishing up kitchen - hung the clothes in garage - Called Gladys - after breakfast we went to Gladys's for awhile - then to Bayside - Went to the Post Office - Drug Store & Colonial - Got home about 11:30 -

Rain & cloudy.
Up at 8:00. Didn't go to Sunday School. After breakfast I washed 2 loads of clothes for Hank - done dishes - made beds & picked up things - Took a shower. Hank & Billy went to Jim's. Got a cooked dinner - frosted the cake. Hank laid down & put Billy asleep while I done dishes. Fred & Catherine came - they hadn't been here long when Holmes's called & said they were coming - I made coffee & served cake - Billy was still asleep when Holmes's came. They left about 5:30 - Dowling's stayed until 6:00. After Lassie Hank went to Vic's & got a pizza - Mom & Dad called while Lassie was on - don't know if they're coming or not - Mom doesn't feel very good & they are having a time with frozen pipes etc. Welad called too - Hank called the base about 10:00 - found out they don't leave until Tues. morning.

Foggy & rain.
Up at 6:45. Hank left at 7:30 & went to work - he came back about 8:00 - said the ship couldn't come in due to fog so they sent them home until 1:00. Billy slept until 8:15 - after he got up I fixed bacon & pancakes - done dishes & straightened up the house. Done some hand sewing on my blouse. Jimmy came over & played this A.M. Hank went back to work at 12:00. Billy & I ate lunch - then I laid down to put him asleep - got up at 3:45 - Hank was home - got supper - had country steak - baked a black walnut cake. Lansden brought our tv back - put a new picture tube in. Watched tv tonight - wrote in diary.

Mr. Lansden came tonight & checked the tv - said he would come tomorrow night & get it. Hank went to Brooks & had the income tax figured. I gave Billy a bath - done a little sewing - watched tv.

Ironed this A.M. - Took clothes down in garage & folded them - Billy played at Jimmy's this A.M. - Hank came home about 10:30 & brought shirts for me to sew name tags on - then he went to a party for Crisco who made chief - got home about 3:00. Before lunch I went to Ruby's & had coffee - was still there when Midge & Brenda came - She stayed until 2:30 - Jimmy came over too. When they left I fed Billy - Hank & Billy went to the store. I sewed name tags on Hank's shirts - started making another blouse for myself.

Midge called & was going to come over but I told her we were going away - After lunch we went to Arco Hdwe. - then to Atlantic Mills - got 2 pr. of pants for Billy - home at 4:00. Jimmy came over. Had hash for supper. Two men from the Mason's came to talk to Hank tonight - I took a shower - wrote in diary - watched tv.

Up at 7:30 - Had a headache all day & didn't feel good - didn't do very much. Dampened some clothes - Wrote a letter to Aunt Freda this A.M. Billy was real irratable all morning. Catherine called - Billy put crayons in the teakettle & I boiled water & poured it in the pot - really was a mess. Made jello. Didn't see Ruby or Jimmy all day. When Billy took a nap I washed one load of clothes - wrote a letter to Mom & Dad. Had hot dogs for supper - Went to Sears tonight - Hank got a pair of shoes. Finished Mom & Dad's letter after we got home - Billy stayed up until 10:00 - Watched tv until 10:30.

Up at 7:30. Did dishes & made beds before Billy & I went to Sunday School. Went to Bayside after S.S. & mailed 2 checks - got a B-day card for Aunt Freda. After lunch we rode out to the Cemetery - it poured down rain. Came home & Billy & I took a nap. Hank woke me up at 3:15 - I put the chicken on. Ate supper about 5:30 - was eating when Jim called & said they were coming over. Got dishes done before they got here. They left at 8:45 - read the paper. Billy stayed up until 10:00. Wrote in diary. Felt so worn out all day.

After lunch I put Billy asleep - then I took a shower - wrote a couple cks. out - wrapped Fred's record - read the Grundy paper - about 4:30 we went to Dowling's - had cake & coffee - Kitty & Jr. came over - home about 6:45 - got supper & done dishes - gave Billy a bath - wrote in diary. Up at 7:45. Hank had gone to work - Had a terrible headache - tv was broken so Billy couldn't watch it. After breakfast I started to finish up the fancy stitching on my blouse - was doing that when Midge called - She came over & stayed until noon. Billy played at Jimmy's all morning - outside. Hank came home for lunch & fixed the tv. I took the car & went to Jim's & got Billy - got lunch & done dishes - before I got Billy to bed, Hank came home - was off for the day. I put 2 coats of Freewax on Billy's closet floor & then Hank painted D-Con on the baseboards - had ants in there. I cleaned the house except our bedroom - Billy took a nap in there - fixed Just Good Eaten for supper - left about 4:30 & went to the Commissary - home about 6:00 - ate supper - watched tv tonight - bed at 11:00 - Billy stayed up until 10:45.

Up at 7:00 - Made Hank's coffee & Straightened up the house - let out side seams on blouse & made it bigger - started to clean house - got the kitchen done when Ruby came for coffee - Jimmy had came as we were eating breakfast - after Ruby left I cut out another blouse - vacuumed the kitchen again & part of the living room - sent J. home at 12:30 - after lunch I was doing dishes when Midge called & her & Brenda came & stayed until 3:10 - Brought 2 doz. eggs - when they left I laid down & got Billy asleep - got up & cleaned the living room, hall & bath - kitchen again - got supper - had swiss steak - went to Munson's tonight - home at 11:00 - Billy fell out of the car as we were leaving for Munson's.

Sewed a little on my blouse tonight - After supper we went to Mad Ams to look for a First Family record for Fred for his birthday - They didn't have it. Came home & then went to Holmes's to borrow his white shoes.
